The Higher Certificate in Business Management (HCBM) helps you develop general management skills and prepares you for employment in junior to middle management positions.

The Higher Certificate in Business Management (HCBM) provides fundamental skills, knowledge and understanding to prepare you for a career in management. It also offers career opportunities for graduates by broadening their understanding of general business administration and management practices to establish and effectively manage a business.

NQF level 4 qualification (eg Senior Certificate) or at least 23 years old and two years’ work experience* and Basic computer skills
* Subject to an RPL process
The HCBM is an NQF level 5 (120 credits), one year qualification that develops generic management competencies and prepares students for employment in junior to middle management positions. It is offered over a minimum period of one year and a maximum of two years.

Each module requires the successful completion of an assignment and an examination. The emphasis of the module assessment is on practical application of theory.

When companies are invited to make presentations on their businesses and recruiting practices, this is a great way to learn more about different industries and specific company cultures.

Students are encouraged to attend off-campus networking events to meet professionals from a variety of industries. Our Alumni Committee also organises informal social functions that bring alumni and students together.
