Law Facilitator

Law Facilitator – Full Time  

The Academic Department of Regenesys Law School has an opening for a Law Facilitator to join their team. The facilitator’s role is a senior role one contributes significantly to students’ success. Facilitators will primarily offer group academic support within the Regenesys Law School, drawing upon their expertise and qualifications. These seasoned professionals will collaborate with their manager to support their personal professional growth and development, playing a crucial role in the overall success of the program.

 

Academics’ Roles and Responsibilities

The successful incumbent will be responsible for, but not limited to, the following deliverables:

  1. Lecturing the relevant Law modules at both undergraduate and postgraduate level
  2. Conducting academic and scholarly research
  3. Having an in-depth understanding of specialisation to enable development of/ contribution towards new knowledge, innovation and understanding within the field;
  1. Support students academically to ensure a high throughput rate
  2. Develop, mark and moderate assignments and examinations
  3. Supervise master’s and doctorate students
  4. Preparing for, assisting with, and facilitating courses of a legal nature that may be taught under the auspices of other schools and departments within the Regenesys Group
  5. Participate in weekly training and development sessions for academics
  6. Invigilate online examinations via an examination proctoring system where required
  1. Performing academic administration and management;
  2. Performing other duties as delegated by the Head of the Department and CEO of the School of Law.

Candidates will be considered on the basis of:

  • Completed a relevant Master’s degree in the Law field, preference will be given to B.Com Law / LLB graduates. A relevant Doctorate/Phd degree would be a strong recommendation.
  • Having a proven track record in lecturing, tutoring, setting and marking assessments at a tertiary institution.
  • Having supervised masters and doctoral students;
  • Having published articles in reputable academic peer-reviewed journals;
  • Having contributed to the curriculum development of programmes in the form of reviewing and writing course material;
  • Demonstrating the ability to apply interactive teaching and learning methodologies online to create an engaging, deep learning experience;
  • Relevant academic administration experience will be a recommendation
  • Ability to deliver lectures, and to a diverse, multi-racial audience

Required competencies (skills, knowledge and behavioural attributes):

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a dynamic team;
  • Appropriate communication skills.
