Job Description

Healthi, a division of Regenesys Management, is seeking a highly motivated and certified Personal Trainer to join our health and fitness team. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing and implementing fitness programmes tailored to the individual needs and goals of clients. The ideal candidate must have a passion for health and wellness, a commitment to helping clients achieve their fitness goals, and excellent communication skills. As a Personal Trainer, you will be responsible for conducting fitness assessments, designing personalised exercise programmes, and providing ongoing support and motivation to clients to help improve their overall health and fitness levels. You will be required to design and deliver education training programmes in health and wellness. The role also requires you to market and promote all the products and services offered by Healthi.

Reporting Line:

  • The incumbent will report to the Head of Healthi.

Responsibilities:

Fitness Assessment:

  • Conduct initial fitness assessments to understand clients’ current health status, fitness levels, and goals.
  • Analyse clients’ body composition, flexibility, strength, and cardiovascular fitness.

Programme Design:

  • Develop personalised exercise programmes based on clients’ fitness assessments, goals, and any specific health considerations.
  • Modify programmes as needed to ensure continuous progress.

Instruction and Demonstration:

  • Instruct clients on proper exercise techniques and form to prevent injuries.
  • Demonstrate exercises and provide clear instructions on how to perform them correctly.

Motivation and Support:

  • Provide ongoing motivation and support to keep clients focused on their fitness goals.
  • Monitor clients’ progress and celebrate achievements.

Nutritional Guidance:

  • Offer basic nutritional advice and guidance to complement clients’ fitness programmes.
  • Encourage healthy eating habits that align with individual goals.

Client Education:

  • Educate clients about the benefits of regular exercise, proper nutrition, and overall healthy lifestyles.
  • Keep clients informed about fitness-related topics and trends.

Design and Deliver Education Programmes in Health and Wellness

  • Design education programmes in health and wellness that can be facilitated online or in person by developing the overall learning outcomes, modules outcomes, and assessments for the programme.
  • Facilitate education programmes in health and wellness that can be facilitated online or in person.
  • Review the curriculum and activities of education programmes in health and wellness to ensure that the content is sound and includes the latest trends and research in health and wellness.

Marketing and Promotion of Healthi’s products and services

  • Market and promote all the products and services of Healthi with the aim of building awareness and encouraging participants to enrol for the services and purchase products.
  • Give health and wellness-related inputs on various platforms e.g. Wellness Wednesdays, Academic Training and Development sessions, Orientation Days, Open Days, Healthi events, staff meetings, etc.

Safety and Emergency Procedures:

  • Ensure the safety of clients during workouts by monitoring proper equipment use and technique.
  • Be knowledgeable about emergency procedures and first aid.

Continuing Education:

  • Stay informed about the latest fitness trends, techniques, and certifications.
  • Pursue ongoing education to enhance skills and knowledge.

Admin Duties:

1- Client Scheduling:

Coordinate and schedule client appointments based on availability and preferences. Maintain an organised calendar to track sessions, assessments, and consultations.

2. Record Keeping:

Keep accurate and up-to-date records of client assessments, progress, and programme adjustments.

Document any relevant health information, injuries, or special considerations.

3. Communication:

Respond promptly to client inquiries, emails, and messages.

Communicate effectively with clients regarding schedule changes, program updates, and any relevant information.

4. Billing and Payments:

Manage client billing and payment processes, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.

Provide clients with invoices or receipts for services rendered.

5. Client Agreements and Waivers:

Ensure clients complete necessary paperwork, including health history forms, liability waivers, and informed consent documents.

Maintain organized and secure records of client agreements.

6. Feedback and Reporting:

Provide regular feedback to your line manager and management on client progress, concerns, or any issues that may arise.

Participate in regular staff meetings and training sessions.

7. Client Retention:

Implement strategies to enhance client satisfaction and retention.

Seek feedback from clients to continuously improve services.

8. Networking:

Build and maintain relationships with other fitness professionals, health practitioners, or relevant contacts within the community.

9. Performance Management:

Complete the performance review forms and be performance reviewed three times per year.

Implement the areas for development recommended by the performance review sessions.

10. Other:

Perform other responsibilities requested by the Head of Healthi and the Board of Directors of Regenesys Management.

Qualifications:

The candidate should possess the following:

  • Certified Personal Trainer from a recognised fitness organisation; and
  • CPR and First Aid certifications;

Working Conditions:

  • This position involved working varied hours, including early mornings, evenings and weekends.
  • The individual is required to work at the Regenesys campus in Sandton on a daily basis.
  • Physical fitness is essential.
