The public sector is seeking strong, ethical leaders – become a critical leader with a Master of Public Management

The Master of Public Management (MPM) is to develop future public sector senior management and encourage leadership. The programme focuses on building your strategic knowledge to improve service delivery.

After successfully completing the MPM programme, you will be able to:

  • Critically evaluate the integration and implementation of key human resource functions and processes within the organisational strategy
  • Evaluate individual, group and organisational behaviour using tools and models for organisational development and leadership
  • Examine public policy models and institutional arrangements to effectively develop and manage public and organisational policies
  • Critically evaluate and apply the global trends pertaining to public corporate governance and related ethical considerations


General information

The Master of Public Management programme is for individuals wanting to progress to senior management and leadership positions in the public and development sector. This qualification aims to enhance strategic knowledge required to improve service delivery.


Duration: 2 years


Honours degree or postgraduate diploma Three years of relevant work experience

The Master of Public Management is an NQF Level 9 qualification offered over a minimum period of two years and a maximum of five years.

Workshops and training resources on topics ranging from CV writing and interview skills, to business etiquette and networking to prepare you for your job search are available upon request. Mock interviews can also be arranged to prepare you for real interviews.

Company Presentations and Recruitment Talks

When companies are invited to make presentations on their businesses and recruiting practices, this is a great way to learn more about different industries and specific company cultures.

Students are encouraged to attend off-campus networking events to meet professionals from a variety of industries. Our Alumni Committee also organises informal social functions that bring alumni and students together.

*all payment options require a mandatory registration fee of R1 000

  • A registration fee of R1000 is required to process your application.
  • Please note that MBA, international and Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) students are also required to take our RMAT test for an additional fee of R250. Therefore, the total registration fee for these students is R1250.
  • Submit documentation (registration form, CV, copy of ID document, certified copy/copies of highest qualification/s, proof of payment)

  • Three years of relevant work experience


  • Exemptions for MPM modules may be considered in accordance with the academic rules and regulations
  • These must be approved by the Registrar on submission of the required information

Choose your Start Date

  • Regenesys has two major intakes per year: 2 March and 3 August
  • Please consult your Business Development Executive for the alternative options

  • Your completed registration form or you can complete our online application
  • A certified copy of your highest qualification
  • A copy of your Identification Document (ID)
  • A copy of your CV, which should include details of all of your work experience
