Event Overview
The National Budget speech has, over the years, given South Africans a credible sense of the economic outlook of the country and this year, once again, it will be presented against a challenging global and South African fiscal and economic backdrop.

The panel is a platform to discuss and learn more about the latest views and perspectives on the South African Economy for 2020, as well as for participants to network and develop lasting relationships with likeminded individuals.

At the session, captains of industry will discuss the future of the South African economy, focusing on sovereign ratings, fiscal and monetary policies, macroeconomics, structural reform, prescribed assets, politics, socio-economic outlook as well as the role of labour unions.

Please join Regenesys Business School and MyWealth Investments at a Breakfast Panel Discussion the morning after the Budget Speech to dissect the annual budget and its implications for all South Africans and businesses.

Event Outcomes
The forum will consist of several highly accomplished speakers who will each provide analyses and insights into the future economic state of South Africa. The audience will get an opportunity to direct questions to the forum speakers to get their most pressing inquiries answered.

Amongst other related matters, the following will be addressed:

  • Reaction to the budget
  • Implications of the budget
  • Rating agencies
  • Downgrade averted?
  • Certainties versus uncertainties in the market
  • The risk factors around SOEs
  • The dismal state of government finances
  • Partial privatisation
  • Rolling back on ‘State Capture’
  • Emerging markets
  • Foreign investments
  • Offshore investments
  • The balancing act on tax
