The project industry is integral in the global business environment and skilled employees are required to meet the demands of the industry, providing significant benefits to individuals, global corporations and the country.
Projects are diverse in their nature, so a wide range of competencies is required to manage them and other similar systems and programmes. This programme aims to provide the foundation or the initial skills required for an individual in an organisation to conduct projects successfully; be an effective project team member; undertake a range of project management administration or support tasks and contribute to the planning and execution of projects or sub-projects.
This programme is ideal for learners working in a project environment as a team member, project administrator or leader of a small project/sub-project. Learners may be from any sector, working in formal business, government, in the community or in rural areas. They may be working as supervisors of small projects or teams on a project, or they may be team members, providing administrative support or specialised procedure support such as procurement. These projects may be technical projects, business projects or developmental projects and will cut across a range of economic sectors.
The FETC: Project Management NQF Level 4 (143 credits) is a 12 month programme that provides the foundation or the initial skills required for an individual in an organisation to conduct projects successfully; be an effective project team member; undertake a range of project management administration or support tasks and contribute to the planning and execution of projects or sub-projects.
The programme is offered over a twelve (12) month period. This includes facilitation, self-study, completion of a Portfolio of Evidence (PoE), workplace experience, group presentations and assessments.
Training sessions are scheduled in a block release format, and are presented over a five (5) day period per module.
A Final Integrated Summative Assessment (FISA) session and Portoflio Building Session (PBW) are presented at the end of the programme over a three (3) day period.
Following the completion of the above modules, Learners also need to complete a Final Integrated Summative Assessment (FISA) that assesses their integrated understanding against the following Exit Level Outcomes (ELO’s):
Work with others to undertake or support the project management activities.
Assist the project manager and/ or project team by contributing and participating in planning, execution and control activities.
Provide support to the administration of a project.
Supervise a project team of a small project to deliver project objectives
The FETC: Project Management NQF Level 4 (143 credits) is a 12-month programme.
On completion, the following certification will be awarded:
A Services Seta Certificate & Services Seta Statement of Achievement will be awarded to all delegates who successfully complete all portfolio requirements; or
A Services Seta Statement of Achievement will be awarded to all delegates who successfully complete some, but not all, of the modules’ portfolio requirements. The Statement of Results will only reflect the modules successfully completed; or
A Regenesys Certificate of Attendance will be awarded to all delegates who attended all training sessions, but who do not complete any portfolio requirements successfully.
It is recommended that learners have the following pre-knowledge and/or proof of competence before enrolling on this programme:
Communication at NQF Level 3 or equivalent.
Mathematical Literacy at NQF Level 3 or equivalent.
Computer Literacy at NQF Level 3 or equivalent.
A basic understanding of the workplace, project processes and operations.
