Overview:

The digital revolution is having an unprecedented impact on the future of work, people and learning. Developments in robotics, social digital media, driverless vehicles, artificial intelligence, drones, machine learning, and virtual reality, are changing the quantitative and qualitative requirements of the future workforce. HR professionals in the mining industry have to find new ways to manage talent – attract, develop, reward and retain, and to inspire passion, innovation, entrepreneurial spirit and excellence. In order to succeed in this rapidly changing new world, we have to embrace the change, continuously learn and stay ahead of the game.

Outcomes:

The forum will address and help you understand the future role of HR in the mining industry and the challenges faced in a new digital age. By attending this forum you will learn all you need to know about HR in the mining industry and the role it will play in reshaping the sector and a new approach that will be required by management. There are significant challenges when it comes to Human Resources as the workforces becomes increasingly specialized and feel the pressures of global human capital trends. You will learn that the most effective HR leaders in the mining industry are those who balance the need for labour and elasticity with the constant drive toward increased productivity and innovation. You will understand that the HR strategy for a mining company must reflect the future landscape of the industry and an increasingly important factor is automation. The discussion will include the fact that increasingly intelligent machines will redefine the need for human intervention and could contemplate an uncertain career where men and women are replaced by machines.

The forum will consist of a number of participants who will each discuss a particular aspect of the future challenges and opportunities faced by HR professionals in the mining industry. The audience will then get an opportunity to direct questions to the forum members and as a result, attendees will get their most pressing questions answered.
