Stakeholder engagement has been part business for organisations in extractive industries for nearly three decades. Now it is becoming an urgent matter for C-level executives in in retail, transport, consumer goods, food and beverages, pharmaceuticals and services. Working with and understanding stakeholders is becoming ever more critical.
Stakeholder engagement is a vital organisation competency and is becoming increasingly important for business, government and NGOs. Well implemented stakeholder engagement enhances the Licence to Operate, and creates opportunities for improving relations with regulators, communities and customers. It identifies relationship ‘blind-spots’ in your organisational context. Good stakeholder engagement builds credibility which is invaluable in a crisis. It is an inescapable part of corporate governance. Senior executives need to understand the building blocks of stakeholder engagement and integrate stakeholder engagement into their organisation’s strategy; drive engagement processes in their organisations and provide strategic support.
This executive presentation will help you understand the role of leaders in setting the agenda and driving the process. You will gain a better understanding of the strategic synergies between King IV, the AA 1000 Stakeholder Engagement Standard, ISO 37000, Social Investment and Integrated Reporting. You will learn about the role of stakeholder engagement in Risk Management. An overview of the basic components of engagement will be discussed while understanding the process issues involved. Furthermore, the integration of stakeholder engagement within the organization will be discussed.
