The focus of Financial Management for Non-Financial Managers is to analyse the process of budget planning, monitoring and auditing, and identify the implementation of the PFMA and relevant financial legislation in the public sector. It explores critical issues such as effectiveness, efficiency, value for money, procurement and financial decentralization. Participants will become familiar with key South African macro-economic issues; public financial management legislation; treasury regulations; and the Public Finance Management Act.

Upon completing this course, you should be able to:
Apply the concept of budgeting;
Apply the concept of standard costing;
Demonstrate an understanding of the PFMA;
Apply rules and regulations to administration of office finance;
Explain the elements of income and expenditure statement;
Assist in planning and preparing a budget for own section;
Analyse a basic statement of financial position and statement of financial performance.
This course is accredited by Public Service Sector Education and Training Authority (PSETA). On completion, the following certification will be awarded:
A PSETA Statement of Results will be awarded to all delegates who successfully complete some, but not all, of the unit standards’ portfolio requirements. The Statement of Results will only reflect the unit standards successfully completed; or
A Regenesys Certificate of Attendance will be awarded to all delegates who attended all training sessions, but who do not complete any portfolio requirements successfully.
