In this course participants discuss tools to analyse the internal and external organisational environment in order to review policies and their impact on public sector strategies. Strategy formulation is considered and the process of devising strategic plans to ensure efficient management practices. The course concludes with the evaluation of strategic planning processes and managing strategic failure and success factors in an organisation.

Upon completing this course, you should be able to:
Explain the purpose of visionary thinking in the leadership context;
Identify and explain visionary techniques to converting vision into workable strategies;
Define, implement and action creative thinking skills;
Analyse trends and developments in various categories using a PESTLE analysis;
Research priority areas for input to scenario planning;
Conduct an analysis to generate alternative scenarios;
Apply selected scenarios into strategic and business planning processes;
Define implementation measurement and evaluation tools in relation to selected scenarios; and
Evaluate scenario planning.
This course is accredited by the Public Service Sector Education and Training Authority (PSETA). On completion, the following certification will be awarded:
A PSETA Statement of Results will be awarded to all delegates who successfully complete the unit standards’ portfolio requirements; or
A Regenesys Certificate of Attendance will be awarded to all delegates who attended all training sessions, but who do not complete any portfolio requirements successfully.
