Operations Management

The focus of the course is on operations planning, implementation, monitoring and evaluation. Application of the knowledge gained in the course will allow participants to develop an operational plan for a business unit or team, implement the plan and the place measures in place to monitor and evaluate the implementation of the plan. Participants will partake in analysing strategic plans and link those to the operational goals required for each unit. Participants will then analyse the goals to identify activities which they use to develop the operational plan for the unit.

Entry Level Outcomes

Upon completing this course, you should be able to:

Examine a strategic plan of an entity to determine the purpose of a unit;

Align operational strategies with entity strategic plans;

Develop goals, objecitves and performance standards;

Identify the components of an operational plan (goals, tasks, responsibilities, time frames, performance measures, resource needs and contingency plans);

Develop measurable parameters for unit performance requirements;

Idenitfy and describe monitoring systems to enable the measurement of progress and results against performance standards;

Implement an operational plan within a specific unit;

Meausre cost-effective implementation and use of resources identified in the operational plan;

Moitor the performance of a unit agains operational plan specifications;

Conduct performance reviews of team members against operational plan inputs; and

Evaluate performance results agains operational outputs.

Certification

This course is accredited by the Services Sector Education and Training Authority (Services SETA). On completion, the following certification will be awarded:

A Services SETA Statement of Results will be awarded to all delegates who successfully the unit standards’ portfolio requirements. The Statement of Results will only reflect the unit standards successfully completed; or

A Regenesys Certificate of Attendance will be awarded to all delegates who attended all training sessions, but who do not complete any portfolio requirements successfully.
