This course contributes to the development of management and strategic skills for managers and other role-players contributing to the development of improved service delivery to communities.

Exit Level Outcomes

Upon completing this course, you should be able to:

Contrast the concept of value in the private and public sector.

Identify methods and techniques to adapt private sector business techniques and values in the context of public sector objectives

Describe the strategic framework of public sector management

Explain the different kinds of value created by public sector entities

Compare a variety of theoretical perspectives relating to value, strategy and service delivery

Describe the political environment as a category in which public sector values, strategies and service delivery takes place

List the constraints and enablers in decision making in achieving public sector objectives

Categorise the internal and external capabilities and resources for delivering service and value to citizens and stakeholders

Quantify the risk and risk components that impede value delivery to communities

Define and implement strategies for delivering public value

Certification

This course is accredited by the Public Service Sector Education and Training Authority (PSETA). On completion, the following certification will be awarded:

A PSETA Statement of Results will be awarded to all delegates who successfully complete the unit standards’ portfolio requirements; or

A Regenesys Certificate of Attendance will be awarded to all delegates who attended all training sessions, but who do not complete any portfolio requirements successfully.
