Employment Equity Planning

The aim of Employment Equity planning is to address employment transformation in South Africa. To achieve this objective, the Department of Labour expects the submission of employment equity plans yearly where organisation report on transformation efforts implemented over twelve months. In order to complete employment equity plans, employment equity committees are expected to analyse the organisational efforts of transformation. The analysis includes a review of organisational processes and procedures (organisational policy) and the efforts the organisation took to address transformation goals indicated in the previous years’ plans. Organisations should, after analysis, indicate the strategy they wish to implement to address employment equity issues identified by submitting an employment equity plan.

This course explains the activities involved in developing an employment equity plan. It explains the requirements prescribed in the Employment Equity Act, the strategies that should be adapted to allow employment equity initiatives to be an integral part of the organisations’ strategies. The course concludes with the application of organisational transformation and change management procedures.
