The Bachelor of Accounting Science (BCompt) prepares learners to enter a range of professional careers in accounting through contact and distance learning. The programme aims to enable learners to analyse, interpret and apply their accounting, auditing, financial management and taxation knowledge in various financial fields.
The successful completion of the three-year BCompt NQF Level 7, together with relevant work experience, opens an education pathway to pursue a career as a Chartered Accountant or to complete a Postgraduate Diploma in Business Management (PDBM) – NQF Level 8, followed by a Master of Business Administration (MBA) – NQF Level 9 and a Doctoral degree – NQF Level 10.
Learners should be competent in Mathematics (NQF level 4) and have good oral and written communication skills in the medium of instruction (NQF level 4).

The following exit level outcomes define the level of performance whereby learners completing the BCompt are assessed.
Apply key principles and specialised knowledge to operate in a complex and variable business environment for both the public and private sector.

Apply integrated knowledge to prepare and interrogate accounting and audit reports according to local and international standards.

Entry Requirements
NQF level 4 qualification (eg Matric exemption) and basic computer skills. Students who complete the Regenesys HCBM may be considered for admission to the BBA.

Exemptions for BBA modules may be considered in accordance with the academic rules and regulations
